Control Infotech Inc. (CII) provides a secure engineering facility and a one-stop-shop for assessment and evaluation of substation cyber assets. The on-premises facility is sectioned into “Lab-zones” isolated and dedicated to specific customer requirements. A Lab-zone can be used to simulate substation operations, assess, mitigate, monitor, and document substation cybersecurity risks (threats, vulnerabilities, impacts and likelihood). Physical and logical devices may be deployed. Data collected can be uploaded securely to customer infrastructure for analyses and archiving. Lab-zones are supported by technicians during business hours and secure remote access is provided to customers on request. Note: certain features can also be implemented in the cloud (AWS or Azure).
Cybersecurity professionals at CII are provided regular training and orientation sessions in substation engineering practices; likewise, engineering teams are provided resources for self-learning and team-based learning of cybersecurity concepts which include awareness training, vulnerabilities in project resources, threat intelligence and information about cybersecurity requirements, controls, practices and “secure-by-design” processes on projects.
